I've seen some pretty big ones, I mean, I've seen Rugby players as well, my uncle used to play and it's not that they're bigger but it's just not as hard hitting. You have a bit more reserve to tackle some one or something like that when there's a good possibility of you getting hurt as well. But that's just my opinion. I personally don't enjoy Football though, find it... too much flash, not enough bang.

Eszett! Yes, but you don't have to use it anymore. Double s is also accepted nowadays, just like they turn ü into ue.

well you have to use it if you want to write it correctly.. in school e.g.

but otherwise ss/ue is also accepted. actually noone cares about spelling anymore since we've had all these reforms in the last years..
