| My MP3 player makes me want to smash it against the wall already. Alright, so I'll admit I downloaded my fair share of music - who hasn't? And I've renamed everything properly, so it all looks neat and everything, EXCEPT for when I want to add it to my MP3 player. The artists are all unorganized. I have like 7 sections of Against Me! (I have most of the stuff from the extra links sections as well). Nothing wants to match up properly.
Is there a certain program I can download to help me organize all of this so that when it transfers to the MP3 it doesn't look like crap? |

| Do you use iTunes? That's happened to me before, but then I'd right click on the song and choose "Get Info." I'd make sure that the Artist and Album Artist were always the same, for every song. Maybe some of them have the album artist listed as Against Me! and some don't? _________________ I've looked at life from both sides now. | Yeah. But I know what you're talking about with the info stuff. My friend has an iPod and I've helped him with that before.
My MP3 player just uses simple dragging and dropping, file to folder, etc. etc. |

| So re-naming the file entirely has proved useless for your MP3 player?
Does you Mp3 player play by the folders you have set up on it or does it just take the music files and play them in the order of the name of the files? _________________ I'm practicing the art of holding us both up! Please, don't fall apart. - DOWN IN FLAMES by OUR TIME DOWN HERE

| My iPod does that too. It shows Against Me! three times ..and I checked and I didn't misspell it or anything. I guess my iPod just realizes AM! is so awesome it has to list them three times. _________________ so whats the use of going outside it's so depressing when people die in real life |

| maybe try this:
load all the files in mp3tag. mark all files and click the "save" button. it doesn't change the names but it worked for me (i guess it has sth to do with the id3 tag version). |

| What you want to do is change the ID3 tags.
If it lists the same thing multiple times, you've probably got some spaces in there. It happened to me. For example, I had some songs listed as "Against Me!", and some, for some reason, as "Against Me!_____". Just change the ID3 tags, which you ought to be able to do by right clicking on the files themselves in windows explorer and just changing the tags. Whatever program you use on your PC should also let you do it as well. _________________ If you stand up like a nail then you will be knocked down / I've been too honest with myself I should have lied like everybody else |
