Tom's a feminist as well. I can't speak for exactly why he desires to be a woman, but I'm sure he has an enormous amount of respect for women, unlike the US in general. It's a different viewpoint, embrace it as something that makes us diverse as a human race.

And I used the feel the same way sometimes as well. Smile

I don't know, I think the lyrics are just a reaction to the overly masculine punk rock scene, and the whole thing about the guitar being an extension of the penis. Maybe there is an element of frustration in being a man in a band who plays guitar but doesn't like the connotation that he's just some guy playing with his dick on stage.
