| I do think this song talks about a taboo relationship, but that does not neccessarily mean gay. (although my personal opinion is that it is about a gay relationship)
It could also be a reference to knowning that the community would disown him after talking to major labels. |

| | I've always thought of this song as being about a 'gay' relationship. However, I never really spend time analysing lyrics, so maybe there's a deeper meaning. |

| Hah. I'm sure Tom isn't that ignorant. Unfortunately some of us are. _________________ I've looked at life from both sides now. From win and lose, and still somehow, It's life's illusions I recall. I really don't know life at all.

| However, the idea of someone being ashamed of liking a fat person is really interesting to me. Why does society base a person's value on how much they weigh? It seems kind of silly to me. It's silly to base a person's value on their sexuality and race as well, of course. But I think judging someone based on their size is a newer development in society.
I don't think anyone should be ashamed of who they want to be with, and for people to make someone feel like they should be ashamed is just plain cruel. I think this song is more than just a story of being in a forbidden relationship; I think it's really showing how fucked up society is for putting pressure on people to not only look a certain way, but to prefer certain looks as well. _________________ I've looked at life from both sides now. | Hahah, actually I'm a girl. & I just didn't find it really funny, was all. I was trying to make conversation about the song based on what you said, which is what this thread is for. I appreciate your commentary though. It's all good. _________________ I've looked at life from both sides now. From win and lose, and still somehow, It's life's illusions I recall. | I definitely agree with lauren on this one, society is fucked up to put pressure on people to look a certain way. _________________
