This is the dumbest movie that I've ever seen
The outcome is predictable
And the casting is so obvious and transparent
Acting transparent politicians
And with out without your vote, well the election's going to happen
I know it burns in your stomach to feel so cheated
It burns in your stomach to feel there's nothing you can do about it

So we laugh together in the same cynical way
We'll talk about it in the same beaten down way
And nothing changes

These are the same choices that we've always had
It's the same rhetoric
It's the same campaign promises
Oh, you don't have to buy what they're selling
But with or without your vote, one of these candidates will take office
And everybody's praying to go numb
Everybody's got the same excuses
There's nothing they can do about it

So we laugh together in the same cynical way
And talk about it in the same beaten down way
We laugh together in the same cynical way
We talk about it in the same beaten down way
And nothing changes
Nothing ever changes

What do you guys think it's about? I'll put my opinion later on.

I really like the song, someone put up the tabs on ultimate-guitar and I was really stoked to learn it. I hope they do something with the song, like put it on an EP or something.

It's about not wanting to vote for a democrat or republican, and how every election the automatic candidates are a republican and democrat. I've heard Tom say before that he thinks we need someone from a new party to be elected as president and I think this song explains it; how he feels about getting automatically fucked on not wanting either candidate to take office.

i think its to get to people to vote... seems like its about people not voting cause it like, gives u the excuses people make for not voting.. "these are the same choices that we've always had", and "u know theres nothing they can do about it"... and consequently "nothing changes... nothing ever changes"

i think the song is saying, i know they are all assholes, but u might as well vote so that u have some say of which asshole is in charge

Yeah, pretty much. They should have used this song for the Rock The Vote thing they did.
