| | What the fuck is this? No thread on the Clash? Ridiculous. I have yet to meet anyone who is remotely interested in punk rock that doesn't like the Clash. Favorite song would have to be Rudie Can't Fail, I've loved it since I was about 14...for some reason it's never changed. |

| London Calling is the best album ever. Lost in the Supermarket, Spanish Bombs, and Clampdown are probably my favorites off of it. Train in Vain too. Don't really like much else except for a few songs off of Combat Rock and Sandinista! Never could get into their older, "more punk" stuff. _________________ |

| I am pretty much in love with the Clash. Also most Clash-related projects, I'm also a big fan of Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros in particular. If I had to pick a favorite song it would be "White Man in Hammersmith Palais." Or "Lost in the Supermarket" when I'm in the mood to listen to it. Or "Train in Vain..." or "I'm Not Down..." or "Hateful...." _________________ p.s. i'm a female, kids.

| I love The Clash, but I do think that they are a bit overrated. Though "London Calling" is fantastic, I find myself listening to Joe Strummer's stuff a lot more. Especially "Streetcore", his final album. It's fucking fantastic.
I also have a version of "White Man In Hammersmith Palais" in Polish, for some reason. It's done by a band called Włochaty, though I don't know which album it's on. It should be easy to find on the internets. _________________ If you stand up like a nail then you will be knocked down / I've been too honest with myself I should have lied like everybody else |

Rudie Can't Fail is definately the best song off London Calling
I love the s/t album most. White Riot, White Man, Garageland
Long live the clash! |

I can completely agree with that. Him & the Mescaleros were especially amazing. _________________ The sun's always rising in the sky somewhere...

God, I remember the day a friend of mine gave me a burned copy of "Streetcore". I took it home and put it on, and it was a religious experience. I think that album is why I haven't just written off music completely in the last five years, because someone made that. There is still hope! _________________ If you stand up like a nail then you will be knocked down / I've been too honest with myself I should have lied like everybody else |

| Haha, I just hope that it's not RIP Joe Strummer, RIP Music.
Saying that, AM! have been part of the whole "great new music" thing for me. I really want AM!'s next album to be so phenomenal that all the "urgh they're sellouts" crowd come back crying for mercy. _________________ The sun's always rising in the sky somewhere...

I feel like an ass for not mentioning that Against Me! also counts as part of the "hey! music doesn't suck!" thing.
I'm just so tired of really boring indie rock (like Sufjan Stephens, Iron & Wine, Feist, and anyone who is basically doing Nick Drake, but with less talent and more boring), or really gay electronic dance punk (!!!, The Killers, Scissor Sisters, you know, all those bands who are just doing Gang of Four, but with less talent, and more obnoxious and annoying).
But between Joe Strummer (RIP), Against Me!, and some bands that are still out there, rocking, I feel that the next wave of popular music might not be so annoying. I have hope. _________________ If you stand up like a nail then you will be knocked down / I've been too honest with myself I should have lied like everybody else |

| | The Clash are holy, man. Strummer was THE don, his mescalaro stuff is immense, especially Global A Go-Go. My fave clash album has to be sandinista, but on vinyl, it just works better than CD. Lost in the supermarket, white man, ghetto defendant, this is england, straight to hell, remote control, lets go crazy, up in heaven, prisoner.... i could keep going for ever with the clash. My most precious possession in the world is my Acton EP hahaha |

| | Death or Glory is my favourite Clash song. The line "And I believe in this, and it's been tested by research, he who fucks nuns will later join the Church" is one of the best lines in music ever. I seriously believe that. |

| When I was younger I got into an elevator with my mom and said 'elevator gooooooin up!' and everyone inside was like
I don't know why I did it ..I was extremely shy back then, so it was pretty odd. |
